![]() | ![]() My mother served in the ATS from December 1941 to May 1946, and there were many stories which she used to tell of her adventures. It wasn't until later in life, after she became a widow and the children had grown up, that she reunited with the Association becoming a standard bearer and formed the Crewe Branch of the Association with other ex-service ladies, she then went on to become the Area Secretary. The various reunions that were held were always attended and thoroughly enjoyed by my mother and the friendship and support she received was a pleasure to watch, share and remember. Various colleagues from the Association formed a Guard of Honour at her funeral which was extremely gracious of them and very much appreciated by the family and we were all very touched by this as I know my mother would have been. I would like to sincerely thank the Association and its members for the love, support, friendship and laughter you shared with my mother, I know it meant the world to her and I shall for ever be grateful for that. Many thanks, Pauline Francis ![]() Date of Posting: 12 March 2017 Posted By: Pauline Francis |

![]() | ![]() Hello Pam, I read your message left on 13 September 2016 on page 3 and thought I'd get in touch. My name is Beverley Jones (nee Graham). I was a medic at Wilton 1978 - 1980 and lived in the same block, on the same floor as you. I'm not sure if you remember me? I seem to remember that you came from Westwood and at the time of joining I was living in Bretton. I am in touch with Debbie Burnham (now Floyd). I was also in touch with the other medic Louise O'Donnell (also know as Antonio and Mann) but sadly Louise died 5 years ago. I remember a few names from that time, Rowena Burke (?) from Birmingham, Ann McKeown, Scotty Storrar, Midge, Jan (Clerk), Jenny Cook (nee Shapowal) who I met again in Hong Kong and several girls from 22 squadron RCT and the signal girls. I was at Guildford in March 1978, then did my medics training, went to Wilton July 1978 until 1980 and then to Lisburn NI. I remember a lot of people of people from my basic and trade training days but am only in touch with Ellen Dunleavy (nee Groves). I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me and would like to get in touch. I'm on Facebook and the WRAC FB page too. ![]() Date of Posting: 15 February 2017 Posted By: Beverley Jones (nee Graham) |
