Bath Branch continues to meet twice a month but with diminished numbers as old age and mobility problems take their toll. We have a varied programme, raising money for Branch Funds by regular small raffles at meetings, a Harvest Sale of vegetables from members gardens and a Fish and Chip lunch before our AGM in November. We enjoyed an outing to Gloucester but have to invite members of other ex-Service Associations to join us as we cannot fill a coach ourselves.
We have a new Committee with 7 members, and as some of them have not served before, we have "new blood" so are hoping for new ideas to keep us going! The Branch Treasurer for many years has stood down owing to ill health and her position has been taken by Mrs Betty Keating who many of you know as she served in Southampton for many years.
The programme for 2012 is being prepared with visits to local attractions and meeting for coffee between meetings. We are having a Spring Lunch at a local college which produces excellent meals at a very reasonable cost. We get invited to Civic Functions and recently we were invited for a Christmas Tea by the Chairman of Bath and North East Somerset Council in Bath's Guildhall. This event was interrupted by a fire in the building and having to stand outside for some time in very cold weather! Memories of our Grand Reunion at warwick came flooding back!
