Last year we were up to our knees in snow, but this year we are being totally confused. Snow which did not stay, mild balmy breezes then Baltic Blasts which are capable of deep freezing without the aid of machinery. Maybe the weather has caught the OAP malady – can’t remember what it is supposed to be doing!
We still meet on the first Monday of the month and usually 8 of us attend. I can guarantee that if you are feeling down you will go home happier and with a load of advice and good wishes.
Sandra Lemmon and Joan Bartlett (me) went down to Perth for the Scottish AGM and had a very nice day. The company was fun, we as a Branch did OK with raffle prizes and I had a surprise when I was called out along with 3 other Branch Secretaries to receive, from Jo Young our President, a Certificate of Appreciation. As you can see from the photograph, Jo is laughing and I am almost smiling. I did not win the competition, though I did sell my effort and the money went to the funds. The winner was well and truly deserving, the Aran scarf with a long fringe was superb.

December saw 10 of us in a hostelry called the Globe for our Christmas Lunch. A pub it may be but the food was lovely. Our member Moyra Brodie thought her lemon tart was too tart – so we helped her out, as friends do, and ate it. A good time was had by all – if the laughter was anything to go on.
